Advent Week 4

This is the final week of Advent. Once again, we gathered up at grand-ma's house. Opu a.k.a. grand-pa is missing. He was at his kebun, takut orang curi sikarap dia hehehe

After the Gospel reading, MoM gave a longgggg 'kaajalan'. MoM reminded us not to forget the real meaning of Christmas! Yes MoM, we got it, don't you worry ;) Then we sang, O Holy Night followed by giving peace to everyone.

As soon as we finished, the carolers led by Mama Indut came and sang carols. Buli tahan jugalah ;)

Xander's Birthday

Xander celebrated his third birthday at my house. It was coincided with the caroling. He was a happy boy that night!

Caroling at Home

I was so excited! Finally, the carolers came to my house. My sister, brother and I were definitely so tired helping MoM and DaD cleaning and preparing at home but in the end it was all worth it! I had fun and was happy.

Advent Week 3

It was the third week of Advent. Again, we did the Advent prayer at grand-ma's house. Being the third youngest in the family, it was my turn to light the candle. Gospel was read by Darling.

As usual, after the Gospel read, my MoM gave a short sharing based on the Gospel. It was all about John the Baptist, the son of Elizabeth and Zechariah. My MoM asked us not to give up easily. That's what happened to Zechariah. He thought he couldn't have child anymore. But God gave John to this couple. MoM also told us why did God send John before Jesus. You wanna know why? Check the Bible ;)

Then, came the most awaited event, Chris Kringle! This was introduced by my aunt a.k.a. Sr. Syl. She is currently in Rome. Thank you Sr. for this lovely idea. This event encouraged us to pray to one another. We were asked to take one 'secret ballot' with name written on it. We will pray to the person we got through the secret ballot everyday at any time! MoM said, we have to keep it secret. Then on Christmas Day, we would reveal the names and give a present to the person :) This is nice!

Xander was asked to take the ballot first, helped by his mommy. Followed by Jojo, myself and my big bro.

Geosyl was next. Followed by my big sister. Then, Geordy and Darling.

Next was Jojo's mom, followed by Inai. When came to my MoM's turn, she got her own name! So, she had to put the ballot inside again and take another one. Then, Jojo's dad.

And then it was my DaD's turn. And you know what happened? He took two ballots! Fortunately, he hasn't read the ballots yet when he realized he got two. So, he returned both ballots and take a new one. Next was, Otiting and followed by my grand-ma. Lastly, grand-pa took the last ballot.

Advent Week 2

It was the second week of Advent. We continued our Advent prayer at grand-ma's house. As usual, before we begin, MoM will give a few instructions.

MoM being the leader, will say the opening prayer.

Georges, being the second youngest in the family lighted the second candle. Then we heard a Gospel reading by my uncle Joe. After taking a moment of silence, my MoM then gave a sharing on the Gospel reading. Then, we sang 'O Come Divine Messiah' followed by giving a sign of peace to everyone.

Usually, after the prayer, we had a simple fellowship. During this time, we will sit together and had a sharing session. Sharing on our journey of life. Huh! what a life!

Advent Week 1

We had Advent prayer at my grand-parents' house. It was actually initiated by my aunt and my MoM had it organized. Here are some pictures:

Xander being the youngest in the family lighted the first candle as the sign of the first week of Advent. A Gospel then read by my uncle, Otiting.

My MoM prepared a booklet especially for this occasion. We said a short prayer together.

Then we sang an Advent hymns before offering the sign of peace to each other. Look at Xander, he was so amazed with the singing and was looking at Otiting playing the guitar :)

Christmas Tree

My MoM told me, Christmas tree is not a must. We still celebrate Christmas even without a Christmas tree at home. It's not about the tree, it's about the birthday of Jesus.

Nevertheless, we still set up our old Christmas tree ;) Why? because every time when I look at the tree, it delights me and it really make me looking forward to celebrate Jesus' birthday!

Oh and by the way, our Christmas tree is already 10 years of old LoL.

An Evening at Tanjung Aru Beach

One Sunday, we went to Tanjung Aru Beach. We brought Xander and grand-ma a.k.a. Mama Tua along.

After eaten, we jalan-jalan at the beach

MoM had video-taped of Xander running around at the seaside but it is not uploaded in You Tube yet. I love to go to the beach again! When? Ask my MoM. She is the boss!
